DarkGrid AI is a desktop application designed to run entirely on your own computer. Protecting your privacy is not an afterthought; it is the core design of the product. This Privacy Policy explains what information is involved when you use the application and this website and, just as importantly, what we do not collect.

Summary

DarkGrid AI has no account system, no telemetry, and no analytics. Your conversations, the questions you ask, and any documents you add are processed and stored only on your device, and are never transmitted to us or to any third party.

This is what we mean by zero-knowledge: because your data never leaves your device, there is no server that could see it and nothing for us to know. We could not hand over, sell, or lose your data even if we wanted to, because we never receive it in the first place.

Interpretation

The words of which the initial letter is capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.

Definitions

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:

• Application (or App) means DarkGrid AI, the desktop software you install and run on your Device.
• Company (referred to as either "the Company", "We", "Us" or "Our") refers to DarkGrid AI.
• Device means any device that can run the Application or access the Website, such as a computer, phone, or tablet.
• Personal Data is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.
• Service refers to the Application and the Website together.

The desktop application

The Application is built to work offline. In normal use:

• No account, no sign-in. You never create an account or provide your identity to use the App.
• Everything stays on your Device. Your conversations, the questions you ask, the models you download, and any documents in folders you add are processed and stored locally. They are never sent to us or to a third party.
• No telemetry or analytics. The App contains no usage tracking, no advertising identifiers, no crash reporting, and no background data collection.
• Network use is limited to actions you start. After a one-time download of a model and knowledge archives, the App works fully offline. The only other network requests are the manual "Check for updates" feature and, if you choose to buy a paid feature, a one-time purchase or activation step. None of these send the contents of your conversations or documents.

This website

The Website (https://darkgrid-ai.com) is a static informational site. We do not set advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not run third-party analytics. The following limited data may be involved:

• Hosting logs. Our hosting provider may record standard request information, such as IP address and browser type, for security and reliability. These logs are not used to identify or profile you.
• Theme preference. If you switch between light and dark mode, that single preference is saved in your browser's local storage. It stays in your browser and is never sent anywhere.
• Build and version requests. When you view the download page or the App checks for updates, a request is made to retrieve build information. Those requests are handled by the host serving the files under its own practices.

Information we do not collect

To be explicit, DarkGrid AI does not collect, store, or transmit:

• Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or postal addresses
• Account credentials (there are no accounts)
• Full payment card details (purchases are handled by a third-party payment processor — see Payments below)
• The contents of your conversations or the documents you add
• Usage analytics, behavioral profiles, or advertising identifiers

Payments

The App is free to download. Some features may be offered as optional paid upgrades. If you choose to buy one:

• Payment is handled by a third-party payment processor. We do not receive or store your full payment card details; the processor collects and processes that information under its own privacy policy.
• We may receive only the limited information needed to provide the feature, such as confirmation that a purchase was made, an order or license identifier, and your activation status. This is not used to track you or to build a profile.
• Unlocking a paid feature may require a one-time internet connection to verify the purchase. Afterward, the App continues to work offline.

Third-party downloads

Models and Wikipedia archives are downloaded from their respective providers. Those downloads are subject to the privacy practices of whoever hosts them, not this Policy.

Your data and your control

Because your data lives on your Device, you remain in control of it. You can delete your conversations and documents from within the App, and you can remove all App data by deleting the application's data folder for your operating system.

Security

The security of your information depends primarily on your Device, since that is where it is stored — we do not hold your Personal Data on any server. No method of electronic storage is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but the offline-first design means your data is not exposed to us or to the network in normal use.

Children's privacy

Our Service is not directed to anyone under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Data from anyone. If you believe a child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us.

Our Service may contain links to other websites that are not operated by us. We strongly advise you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content or privacy practices of any third-party sites or services.
